Peer-Learning and Exchange – Taking Stock: COVID-19 Vaccine Financing, Procurement, and Distribution in Africa

Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Budget representatives, as well as other country stakeholders, can use the information contained in the presentations and event recordings to identify strategies for financing the COVID-19 vaccines – including tools for budget reallocations and opportunities for financing through the World Bank and UNICEF.

OVERVIEW:

On 30 September, 2021, The Collaborative Africa Budget Reform Initiative (CABRI) hosted a virtual peer-learning and exchange event to take stock of COVID-19 vaccine financing, procurement, and distribution in Africa. This event followed an earlier peer-learning and exchange event and provided an update on where we find ourselves now in terms of COVID-19 vaccine financing, procurement, and distribution and reflected on the key public finance-related challenges that African governments have faced in vaccinating their citizens against COVID-19.
